L1[00:00:36] <SporkWitch> actually slightly
rearranged now. I moved the mount for the keyboard platform to the
left side and moved the stick mount to the right (it used to be in
the middle, as in an A-10, which is what that particular throttle
and stick are modeled on, but i got sick of mounting the stick and
taking it out, decided having the mouse side of the tray being a
little wobby was acceptable compromise)
L2[00:01:00] <SporkWitch> the computer
itself is also currently on its side, as I try to work some really
stubborn air bubbles out of the cooling loop

L43[03:48:06] <SporkWitch> raptop: loved
those growing up, so much fun. but i won't give a penny to GoG.
They lied for a full decade about making a linux client, then said
they're never making one not even 2 years ago
L44[03:49:39] <Althego> i still rather pay
them than steam, at least what i have from gog are independent from
the company, even if the company failes, my games would work
L45[03:54:25] <SporkWitch> a fair point,
but i feel like Valve, of any company these days, does the best of
ballancing that knife edge of consumer vs devs vs
shareholders
L46[03:54:48] <Althego> if things continue
like this gog goes bankrupt
L47[03:57:25] <SporkWitch> we can hope, but
people are dumb. I run what was THE ark discord; we've been around
for a couple years before the devs made their own. The WORST time
was when epic threw money at the ARK devs to give away free copies.
It's the PC version, sure, but because EGS is complete garbage, so
was the support. "why can't i join?!" because you didn't
buy the game, you just downloaded EGS.
L48[03:59:09] <SporkWitch> That's what they
do; EGS NOW is worse than Steam was when it was originally
released. EGS now is exactly the SAME as EGS was when it was
launched. Instead of actually fixing it or trying to compete, they
just bribe indie devs for exclusivity, and buy keys to give away.
Then those same players find the game isn't only on EGS, and cry
because they can't play, because they have a broken version
L49[03:59:57] <Althego> yes, they grow
because of the giveaways
L50[04:00:39] <Althego> and i am just as
not interested in them as in steam
L51[04:01:06] <SporkWitch> GoG's done
similar, but instead of bribes, they just market as being
consumer-friendly, and especially as not being Microsoft's [female
dog], but again, they've been making pro-FOSS noises for years, and
only move against it. Remember when they didn't ALLOW DRM on their
store? now everything is windows-only and always-on DRM
L52[04:01:35] <Althego> yes that was a jerk
move
L53[04:02:50] <SporkWitch> see? steam i
trust. they're pure profit. they don't play the political and
social games, if it sells, they allow it. And that's why they have
no mandatory DRM, allow more variety than any others, content
others won't alloow. They're what a company should be: trully
ambivalent. Make it, if you can sell it, do it.
L54[04:03:46] <SporkWitch> sorry, i ramble,
