L153[14:55:35] <Deddly> I have done that
to a video card
L154[14:57:20] <Deddly> I had a laptop
that I loved but it was known for eating the GPU. This was a Dell
XPX M2010, a monster of a machine and it had a GPU that could
actually be removed and replaced, but the replacements were so
expensive that I thought I'd give the oven a try.
L155[14:59:33] <Deddly> I remember pulling
the main chip from the card and putting it in the oven for a while.
When I took it out and had allowed it to cool, I applied some
thermal paste to the chip and replaced it, but the card back in the
laptop and hey, presto, it worked
L156[15:01:02] <Deddly> It lasted for
months and months (actually longer than a refurbished replacement
card I had previously bought and used) until I decided to play
Minecraft on the machine and that pushed the GPU too hard making it
overheat and die again. By that time I was fed up enough to replace
the whole machine.

BPlayer hides
L166[15:33:05] <Guest27614> I am having a
real stupid issue here, can anyone help?
L167[15:33:18] <BPlayer> Not unless you
tell us what the issue is. ;-)
L168[15:33:25] <Guest27614> I'm not a tech
savvy guy here, but this issue is pissing me off
L169[15:33:34] <Guest27614> Ok
L170[15:33:47] <Guest27614> I'm trying to
build a rocket in the game on ps4
L171[15:34:15] <Guest27614> When trying to
build the rocket, it wont allow me to select and pick something
with x button?
L172[15:34:23] <BPlayer> Also, please do
not use strong language in this chat, we enjoy the reputation of
being very family friendly. :-)
L173[15:34:35] <Guest27614> Oooops, ok.
sorry
L174[15:35:12] <BPlayer> Unfortunately I
only use the Windows version of KSP, so I am not sure how to fix
your issue. But if you hang around for some time, other people that
might help will show up.
L175[15:35:25] <Guest27614> ok,
thanks
L176[15:37:46] <Guest27614> I think I will
try right from the beginning, see what I may be missing. Thanks for
the offer though
L177[15:39:12] <BPlayer> Does it usually
work with the X button? Otherwise a possibility is that your
controls are set up differently than you expect. You may check that
in the settings of the game.

L259[20:33:36] <UmbralRaptor> No good way

lua

L262[20:35:08] <Glass|phone> no ternary

L263[20:35:55] <VanDisaster> why is that a
problem
L264[20:36:07] <VanDisaster> the index
starting at 1 is quite annoying, I have to admit
L265[20:36:28] <Glass|phone> lua bitwise
operators don't work on booleans, and I have to transpile legacy
script expressions written by people unaware of the difference
between | and ||
L266[20:39:04] <Glass|phone> I'm not sure
what exactly the dealbreaker was but there was one thing I wanted
to present to the user as zero-based, and having the script
language differ would be stupid
L267[20:39:37] <Glass|phone> also, I would
have to write an insanity-friendly version of every API method that
takes an index
L268[20:39:41] *
darsie wonders how hard it would be for an AI to play

L269[20:40:50] <Glass|phone> darsie: split
it up into 'parsing contracts', 'generating rockets' and 'setting
up mechjeb' and it seems doable
L270[20:42:27] <darsie> Goals could be to
complete the tech tree, make 100 MVF, get surface samples from each
body, do each type of contract (they are identified by the first
word).
L271[20:44:13] <Glass|phone> I'd first try
to make it just identify profitable contracts it can fulfill right
now

grind is the same regardless of goals
L273[20:56:05] <Glass|phone> UmbralRaptor:
I also have a weird requirement to be able to define formulas and
only evaluate them when their inputs change. could be done in lua
using static code analysis but at that point I've already written a
parser
