L104[17:44:14] <Corded> > <Forecaster> I asked how "robot disappearing at the site of a meteor imp…
L105[17:44:14] <einBeo> the "mystery" would be how exactly the robot (consistently) disappears when exploring a meteor crash site. These AE2 meteor are part of the world generation after all and not events that should modify anything the player does. The interesting edge case here is that the robot is generating the world with an extremely small (3x3) chunk
L106[17:44:14] <Corded> view. What I think is happening is that the robot paths near the meteor chunk, at some point loading said meteor chunk, triggering populate events in that chunk, which, importantly, affect nearby chunks, including the Robot 1 chunk away, breaking the block.
L107[17:48:10] <einBeo> the problem exists because the robot is a block that can cause close-proximity chunk generation, breaking itself in the populate step. Something that generally doesn't exist and hence isn't accounted for in development of such populate events
L108[17:48:10] <einBeo> conversely, if the chunks are pre-generated (as is common practice on many servers), this type of accident can't happen.
L109[17:48:50] <Lizzy> @Michiyo: yeah, brought my nextcloud back up cause that container's got a patch from ubuntu. my personal blog is using wordpress and i've been meaning to ditch wordpress and make it static for a while so i'll just do that. only major one after that is the OC forums which is a bigger task than just todays php things
