Yeah, that's probably true. Was it always on the first block
in a new chunk, or was that only sometimes? Maybe there's some
weird behavior where it's not losing all of the chunks at

moment it moves out of the chunk that it was in, it then drops it

<RedstoneParkour> i mean you could build
some redundancy
L32[11:20:07]

<RedstoneParkour> if some robot goes

L33[11:20:20]

<RedstoneParkour> or have them always
travel in pairs
L34[11:20:33]

<einBeo>
handling robot "death" will definitely be necessary
L35[11:20:48]

<einBeo>
though handling it via backups may just be sufficient and very
easy
L36[11:21:25]

<RedstoneParkour> well that requires you

L37[11:21:39]

<einBeo> I

L38[11:21:43]

drones are enticing, I'm still considering them

L43[11:25:29] <Corded> > <einBeo>
I can automate it, though there is a risk involved
L44[11:25:29]

<einBeo>
this would digress from OC so I'll only leave this as a quick
side note: You could aleviate the risk by automatically
"labelling" backups as "safe", always keeping
at least a couple "safe" backups in store and always
loading to the latest "safe" backup on restart
L45[11:25:50]

<einBeo>
the key challenge would be in labelling backups as safe

L72[13:00:06]

<vftdan>
Does that mean that sending domain names to another remote host is
meaningless?
L74[13:02:36]

<vftdan>
Like, I have `pc1`, `pc2`, `pc3`. `pc1` tells `pc2` to contact
`pc3`. It probably wouldn't work if `pc1` and `pc2` are in
different VLANs, because `pc3` will have different domain names
relative to them?
L75[13:02:45] <Izzy> not necessarily

L83[13:07:33]

<vftdan>
So, if I have several tablets running that are connected with each
other wirelessly and one of them is connected to a metropolitan
area network via a linked card, how do I configure hostnames and
routing between the PAN and the MAN?
L84[13:07:54]

<RedstoneParkour> ~oh god wireless mesh
network~
L85[13:08:06] <Izzy> if you want to limit
the linked card to just that device you can give it its own
suffix
L86[13:08:16]

<RedstoneParkour> probably have the linked
card be a suffix yeah
L87[13:08:35] <Izzy> it's a little odd
to do it like that but it works
L88[13:08:37]

<RedstoneParkour> though wdym just that
device?
L89[13:08:59] <Izzy> oh. oh right yes
L91[13:09:03]

<RedstoneParkour> wouldnt other devices in
the wireless network also route through the linked card if they use
the suffix
L92[13:09:06] <Izzy> yeah no you'd
give the PAN a suffix
L93[13:09:11] <Izzy> via the linked
card
L94[13:09:37] <Izzy> rc minitel set_vlan
tunneladdr 0 .vftpan
L95[13:10:04]

<RedstoneParkour> ideally you'd have
a suffix both ways: one to prevent unneeded metropolitan traffic
from going to your PAN and one vice-versa
L96[13:10:11]

<RedstoneParkour> right?
L97[13:10:25] <Izzy> yup, one on the tablet
side also
