<Peachy>
Hey guys. I'm attempting to put together a program that uses
the motion sensor block. I'm trying to make a program that
will trigger an event like outputting a redstone signal for example
when it picks up movement.
L54[14:16:27]

<Forecaster> That's very broad
L55[14:16:42]

<Peachy> I
understand that setSensitivity and getSensitivity are the only two
methods available but am a little confused on how to get the
program to only pick up on events from the motion sensor.
L56[14:16:42]

<Peachy>
L57[14:16:43]

<Peachy>
When in the lua console if I run "while true do
print(event.pull("motion"@)) end" it does show when
ever the sensor detects movement but i'm unsure how to
incorperate that into a program.

Right okay. Doing my best to understand lol
L85[15:11:35]

<Forecaster> the functions
`on_interrupted` and `on_motion` that I pass to `event.listen` are
called when the event occurs, and are passed the event data as
arguments
L86[15:11:43]

<Forecaster> these are the callback
functions
L87[15:16:15]

<Peachy> ok
so probably dumb question, but why do I need the interupt parts? if
the purpose of the program is simply to beep when ever it detects
movement from the sensor I mean.

let's you gracefully quit the program with `ctrl + c`

because that's something she commented on as a bonus to
rehosting the jars
L201[20:29:04] <Izzy> technically you can
put arbitrary URLs in your .packupdate file but that's not
supported by the included tooling
L202[20:29:27] <Izzy> you're expected
to either assemble your .packupdate file manually or host all the
files
L203[20:29:35] <Izzy> (and use the
packupdate-gen script)
L204[20:31:00] <Amanda> Another neat thing
with packwiz is I can just point my server at the manifest URL as
well, and then I just need to restart the MC container and
it'll update everything
L205[20:33:29] <Amanda> packwiz has a CLI
you use to manage all the files, so to add a modrinth mod you do
"packwiz modrinth add <url-to-mod>"
L206[20:33:57] <Izzy> I'm using
packupdate for the server side but due to [arcane reasons] it
doesn't install forge properly on the server so I had to do
that manually with ansible
L207[20:47:21] <nadja> @LilyflowerFDL I
never published the intermediary builds anywhere, mostly because
they're on the quality side of "it compiles, ship
it" and that's not really my standard for
"publishable". But hey, I'm setting up a modrinth
page, might as well throw the old builds up there too ig

deflated balloon Batman! Vaur! You beat Forecaster's
previous record of <0 (By 1 hour, 8 minutes and 57 seconds)! I
hope you're happy!
L211[20:54:08] <MichiBot> Vaur's new
record is 1 hour, 8 minutes and 57 seconds! Vaur also gained
0.00115 tonk points for stealing the tonk. Position #4. Need
0.04022 more points to pass Forecaster!
