<Mimiru>
Anyone ever have AE2's autocrafting just... dumb? I have a pattern
for 1 kelp = 1 dried kelp, I have a pattern provider outputting to
a chest. I request 10 dried kelp, I get 8 kelp in my chest. if I
request 1 I get 0, If I request 2, I get 1, 3 gets 1, 4 gets me 2,
5 gets 3 etc...
L2[00:19:06]
<Mimiru>
Now.. it APPEARS that all of the kelp is being removed, but it just
gets... lost?
L3[00:19:46]
<Mimiru>
315 kelp -> request 10 dried kelp, 305 kelp but only 8 in my
chest'
L4[00:27:05] <Amanda> Anything that could be
pulling from the chest that you're not expecting? Misconfigured
multi-route item connector?
L5[00:28:07]
<Mimiru> I
removed the funnles, there is nothing else touching this chest. and
nothing else is doing anything on this network, it's my crafting
CPU, my pattern provider, my storage drives, and this chest on top
of the pattern provider
L6[00:28:41] <Amanda> Alternately check with
a pattern terminal for other recipes?
L7[00:29:16]
<Mimiru>
There is a single pattern in this network, kelp -> dried
kelp
L9[00:29:59] <Amanda> No idea then, I'm
getting too eepy to think much more sorry
L10[00:30:47] <Amanda> Are there any other
inventories next to the pagan provider?
L11[00:31:56] <Amanda> I saw that topy, but
thought it's more fun to not fix it
L12[00:32:13]
<Mimiru>
Not directly adjacent There is a chest 3 blocks away
L13[00:32:16]
<Mimiru>
but it too is empty
L14[00:33:22]
<Mimiru> OH
WAIT WHAT
L15[00:33:29]

L17[00:34:03] <Amanda> Ahhh yeah
L18[00:34:14] <Amanda> They function as
inventories
L19[00:34:52] <Amanda> You can even put
andesite funnels against them to pull items out
L20[00:35:40] <Amanda> Against their sides
that is
L21[00:36:11]
<Mimiru>
yeah it was
L22[00:36:12]
<Mimiru>
Belt---Provider----Belt
L23[00:36:16]
<Mimiru>
with the chest on top of the provider
L24[00:36:47]
<Mimiru>
The left belt was stealing them and then they were getting blasted
by lava so POOF
L25[00:37:05] <Amanda> You can turn it into
a multi block primer instead and it'll only go to the attached
side
L26[00:37:31]
<Mimiru> I
just moved the provider up and behind the chest
L27[00:41:19]
<Mimiru>
Well, good to know I don't even NEED the chest as a buffer then..

L66[16:41:13] <Amanda> Does anything appear
in the terminal running the program?
L67[16:41:59] <Amanda> AllI can think, with
no IR knowledge, is that "pad.horn()" is erroring becasue
it expects an argument that you're only providing in the second
call
L68[16:42:26] <Amanda> But that should
print something to the terminal, or "/tmp/error.log" if
it's in a rc.d service or si,milar
L69[16:50:57]
<Yabe_uke>
No, no, there are no errors
L70[16:51:03]
<Yabe_uke>
The code runs fine, just as expected
L71[16:51:09]
<Yabe_uke>
Sometimes computers just stop
L72[16:51:42]
<Yabe_uke>
pad.horn() is just "blow the horn"
L73[16:52:02]
<Yabe_uke>
I then stop it with pad.horn(0), and all that works as
expected
L74[16:56:05]
<Yabe_uke>
I will recheck IR's wiki just in case, but the trains can make a
couple of loops before they start experiencing this issue.
L75[16:56:13]
<Yabe_uke>
Well, sometimes
L76[16:56:20]
<Yabe_uke>
As I said, it's quite random somehow
L77[17:01:48]
<Forecaster> By stop, do you mean the
computer is just suddenly off but the screen is showing the last
thing that was on it?
L78[17:02:02]
<Forecaster> @Yabe_uke
L79[17:05:56]
<Yabe_uke>
No, they just kind stop. No errors on the screen, no signs of a
freeze. It's like game simulation stopped wich is weird because not
only I have chunkloaders on the computers, the trains have their
own chunkloader. They just seem to not work, but in-game they
report as fully working. The rest of the world keeps working like
normal
L80[17:05:56] <Corded> though.
L81[17:06:27]
<Yabe_uke>
They do not turn off
L82[17:06:49]
<Yabe_uke>
Analyzer sees nothing on them
L83[17:08:00]
<Forecaster> If you hit the power button
do they boot up again?
L84[17:08:41]
<Yabe_uke>
Nope, they turnoff because they were already on
L85[17:08:41]
<Forecaster> There's a known long standing
bug with that
L86[17:09:00]
<Forecaster> That's different I think, but
it might be a similar issue
L87[17:09:10]
<Forecaster> Try disabling
persistence
L88[17:09:49]
<Yabe_uke>
That would mean chunkloaders would be mandatory to keep them alive,
right?
L89[17:10:19]
<Forecaster> If that's necessary yes
L90[17:10:38]
<Forecaster> Otherwise they will just boot
up when loaded
L91[17:11:19] <Amanda> A chunkloader would
be nesseary anyway, they're put to suspended and put to sleep when
their chunk is unloadded
L92[17:11:31] <Amanda> disabling
persistance just changes that into a poweroff instead
L93[17:11:39]
<Yabe_uke>
Ah, I see
L94[17:12:12]
<Forecaster> Yes
L95[17:12:48]
<Forecaster> Persistence doesn't allow
computers to stay loaded if the chunk is unloaded
