L3[00:42:33] <Izzy> Why does the OpenOS
installer install to disk when you run 'install' but my custom one
doesn't? I copied the .prop over
L4[00:43:40] <Izzy> Is it because the
installer is read-only?
L5[00:58:14]
<PwnagePineapple (He/Him)> So I got an
idea for another TIS Advanced module: The Radio Sniffer Module. It
listens to radio packets just like the radio module, but instead of
transmitting and receiving data, it returns some as yet
undetermined data about the relative location of the
transmitter.
L6[00:58:15]
<PwnagePineapple (He/Him)>
L7[00:58:15]
<PwnagePineapple (He/Him)> I'd imagine it
being used to do radio packet filtering based on the position of
the transmitter, and with something like Valkrien Skies or Create
Aero, something like scanning for nearby ships
L8[00:58:29]
<PwnagePineapple (He/Him)> +by detecting
their radio signals
L9[00:58:58]
<PwnagePineapple (He/Him)> Thoughts?
L10[01:44:50] <Izzy> hmm, running search4
on the inventory controller server is janky. good to know.
L11[01:52:43]
<walksanator> %tonk
L12[01:52:44] <MichiBot> Bingo!
walksanator! You beat Forecaster's previous record of <0 (By 3
hours, 51 minutes and 17 seconds)! I hope you're happy!
L13[01:52:45] <MichiBot> walksanator's new
record is 3 hours, 51 minutes and 17 seconds! walksanator also
gained 0.00385 tonk points for stealing the tonk. Position #14
=> #13. (Overtook ThePiGuy24) Need 0.08770457 more points to
pass RedstoneParkour!
L14[02:53:28] <ThePiGuy24> Izzy: i have
created a janky solution to my issues of not knowing the ids of
incoming notifications; just create a new notification then remove
it, only the program that creates the notification can get the id,
but the ids are sequential, and im eavesdropping on all the
notifications, so i just increment by one for every notification i
see and it just sorta works fine ;p
L15[02:54:03] <Izzy> wow that's awful!
excellent
L16[02:56:39] <ThePiGuy24> i should
probably make it re-do this every now and then, just to make sure
it doesnt fall out of sync for too long if it misses a notification
;p
L17[03:21:21] <Izzy> so I can fit OpenOS
and Minitel on a disk, but adding mtrpc and rica on top of that is
a bridge too far. So now I'm thinking about cooking up some way to
compress stuff and unpack it at install time.
L18[03:42:38] <ThePiGuy24> tokenise the lua
:3
L19[03:59:08] <Izzy> I was thinking
compressed mtars, unpack them when you run install

<Forecaster> right... of course
L30[09:39:39]
<Forecaster> I made my application save
the cargo manifest on change, and load it at startup
L31[09:40:38]
<Forecaster> but it doesn't quite work,
because now if I start the application it reads from the journal,
adds 100 limpets, then saves that, then if I restart it it loads
100 limpets from the saved manifest, then adds another 100 from the
journal....
L32[09:40:59]

each restart because it saves the new amount
