I'm sorry, I think I wasnt clear. What I meant was how can I get
rid of the replies that I didnt iterate through. If I just left and
ignored them they would still be there in the que. So, the next
time around when I call event.pull for a different reply (say, I
expect it from a server) the first message I would get is the last
drone reply that I didnt read and the server's reply would be stuck
(if not dropped) at the back of the que.

on Wine using Vulkan or OpenGL.

<Forest> Oh
yeah i searched that but I don't understand what they meant by
that
L165[20:48:54]
<Forest> By
imitation would that mean something akin to CC's modems in
OC2?
L166[20:49:21] <Amanda> something that
acts like wifi, but isn't using actual wifi protocols/drivers
L167[20:49:40] <Amanda> like, the network
card in OC2 is a fully functioning ethernet device
L168[20:51:08] <Amanda> It's passing
actual ethernet packets around. Doing the same for wifi would be
abit extra, espically since AFAIK there's no virtio device for
wifi-type stuff.
L169[20:51:33] <Amanda> Not least because
wifi has like, 3 mac addresses per packet, apparently
L170[20:52:13]
<DaComputerNerd> in that case a wifi-like
thing does seem like a good idea
L171[20:52:28] <Hawk777> Maybe wireless
transmission capability that uses the existing NICs, just a magic
ethereal medium that carries Ethernet frames instead?
L172[20:52:39] <Hawk777> Not sure whether
that already exists though; I haven’t tried OC2.
L173[20:53:10] <Amanda> The linked cards
happen, they behave like magic ethernet cable connects them through
the ether
L174[20:53:45] <Hawk777> I guess that’s
close, though allowing >2 NICs on the medium might be
nice.
L175[20:54:53] <Hawk777> Which IIUC is not
possible with linked cards.
L176[20:55:11] <Hawk777> Unless you can

L177[20:55:13] <Amanda> I'm not sure about
in OC2, but IIRC in OC1 it would cause some weird issues
L178[20:57:18] <Hawk777> Oh yeah the wiki
says you can put a linked card into a relay. Presumably you could
do multiple hops that way, a pair of relays with linked cards from
location A to B, and then another pair of relays with their own
linked cards from B to C.
L179[20:59:22]

<Forecaster> %sip
L190[21:37:55] <MichiBot> You drink a
resonating strawberry potion (New!). There's an acidic tinge to the
potion... A label on the bottle reads "Who needs internal
organs anyway?". Forecaster takes 3d6 => [3,1,2] acid
damage.
L191[21:38:02]
<Forecaster> ow
L192[21:38:19]
<Forecaster> I need those organs I'm
pretty sure
L193[21:42:06] <Amanda> why do you keep
drinking acidy potions, then?
L194[21:42:43]
<Forecaster> it smelled like strawberries
>:
L195[21:45:28]
<DaComputerNerd> %sip
L196[21:45:28] <MichiBot> You drink a
slimy tan potion (New!). DaComputerNerd: Nothing seemed to
happen...
L197[21:45:36]
<DaComputerNerd> ...
L198[21:50:47] <Amanda> That's the
scaryest one! Do I need to make sure there's not an
ArrayOutOfBounds error in the grass on level 981 agaib?

L201[21:57:44] <MichiBot> You drink a
gloomy automato potion (New!). After drinking the potion Forest
notices a label that says "Side effects may include giggle
fits and excessive monologuing."
L202[21:59:34]
<Forest>
>MichiBot: You drink a gloomy automato potion (New!). After
drinking the potion Fore…
L203[21:59:34]
<Forest>
well maybe this wasn't the best idea, after all there's labels on
peoducts for a reason aha, maybe next time i'll have to check what
i'm drinking, wouldn't wanna experience any of those nasty side
effects! After all who knows what it could do to me! Now that
that's out of the way i shall continue playing Minecraft and try
finding an anvil i can steal instead of creating one myself
:3
L204[21:59:56]
<Forest>
(Yes i tried waffling as much as possible)
L205[22:02:52]
<Forecaster> %splash Forest mutable
L206[22:02:52] <MichiBot> You fling a
mutable platinum potion (New!) that splashes onto Forest. Forest
turns into an orange octopus boy until someone baps them.
L207[22:04:04]
<Forest>
pff
L208[22:05:01] <Amanda> %splash Inari with
mutable strawberry potion
L209[22:05:01] <MichiBot> You fling a
mutable strawberry potion (New!) that splashes onto Inari. Inari
turns into a radiation octopus until they tonk.
L210[22:05:02]
<Forecaster> Sounds poisonous
L211[22:05:23]
<Forecaster> That one too...
L212[22:05:29]
<Forecaster> But in a different way
L213[22:06:52]

L214[22:06:52] <MichiBot> [ Forest flails
at the darkness ]
L215[22:06:56]

ooh
L216[22:07:00]
<Forest>
%bap Forest
L217[22:07:00] <MichiBot> Forest baps
themselves with fangirling vtuber!
L218[22:07:07]
<Forest>
o
L219[22:08:38]
<Forecaster> I guess it doesn't specify
that it has to be someone else
L220[22:08:46]
<Forest>
yeah xD
L221[22:09:20] <Amanda> TO be fair, most
things MichiBot doesn't let you do it to yourself
L222[22:12:42]
<Forecaster> %stab Forecaster
L223[22:12:42] <MichiBot> Forecaster is
trying to stab Forecaster! They have 5 minutes if they want to
attempt to %defend against it!
L224[22:12:54] <Amanda> Hrm, at least I
thought that was the case
L225[22:13:03] <MichiBot> Forecaster is
stabbing Forecaster with a Shiny family of quakers! (10%) for 1d4
=> 2 damage!
L226[22:13:28] <Amanda> cause I remember
thinkking it was odd "You can't stab yourself, but you can get
micibobot to LOIC you if you try and stab her"
L227[22:13:42]
<Forecaster> Well she certainly doesn't
let you do it to herself
L228[22:14:12]
<Forecaster> It might very well have been
that way in the past, I cannot remember
L230[22:49:17] <dequbed> @Forest I
distinctly remember talking to you about the topic of real world
internet connection just yesterday. It exists but it is always a
hassle no matter which way you go about it.
L231[22:52:33] <Amanda> I wasn't sure if
that wsa the same person, or a different F-name
L232[23:00:41] <Amanda> %choose rain box
or wait for the sun to hide from your great power
L233[23:00:41] <MichiBot> Amanda: My
grandfather always told me that "wait for the sun to hide from
your great power" is the way to go!
L234[23:01:03] <Amanda> So, half hour to
kill

L240[23:48:17] <spiral> what's a good way
to write or edit code for OC outside of minecraft itself? I'm
starting to work on larger programs, and I'd feel more comfortable
writing in an external program, and then importing it into
minecraft for testing
L241[23:48:52]
<MGR>
Visual Studio Code is what I use
L242[23:49:10] <spiral> I've just found
that the contents of each computer is stored in my save folder, but
I don't want to assume that editing files right there is
necessarily a good practice, especially while the game is
running
L243[23:49:40] <spiral> oh, I have an
editor in mind, it's about the logistics of bringing the code in
and out of minecraft I'm not sure about
L244[23:49:53] <Amanda> disable buffeering
and it's perfectly fine
L245[23:50:50] <spiral> where do I find
that setting?
L246[23:51:46] <Hawk777>
config/opencomputers/settings.conf, bufferChanges setting in the
filesystem section.
L247[23:51:55] <spiral> thanks
