Fun trivia: RPG Maker. That program that makes RPGs and is quite
fun. Since the developers knew 90% would just use the default
resources to make total dreck, they invented the RTP (RunTime
Package), which contains all the default assets and is installed
into a known location, so if you download 20 games, you don't need
to download the same stuff 20 times. The RTP was fairly small until
RPG Maker VX Ace, when they switched from MIDI music to O
L53[02:52:29]
<Wuerfel_21>
music. That RTP is like 200MB. Then they made RPG Maker MV, using
web tech. Now every game needs to bundle Chromium AND the entire
RTP. To make up for that, i guess, the RTP for MV is really
barebones (=crud).

<ZefTheFox>
Everything else is done with a resource pack
L234[11:29:52]
<ZefTheFox>
I'm currently spending time to make the model look nicer
L235[11:31:15]
<Compu> u
know what would be really cool? if u could make a clear sidepanel
with little versions of the components installed inside
L236[11:32:21]
<ZefTheFox>
I could probably try to do that
L237[11:33:16]
<ZefTheFox>
Maybe I'll have an array of models
L238[11:33:27]
<ZefTheFox>
Since this is in fact a resource pack
L239[11:34:01]
<ZefTheFox>
However I discovered an issue, after making minecraft treat the
block as transparent the mod nolonger displays the computer cases
without the resource pack enabled
L242[11:56:37]
<Compu>
couldn't u just add the custom texture as a new default into the
mod itself?
L243[11:56:47]
<Compu> the
same way opencomputers itself adds custom textures?
L244[11:57:53]
<ZefTheFox>
I can't add it as an alternative model
L245[11:58:02]
<ZefTheFox>
I could *replace* the model but that'd cause more issues
L246[11:58:15]
<ZefTheFox>
And I'm just doing this as a personal thing
L247[11:58:19]
<ZefTheFox>
no intentions on releasing it
L248[11:58:27]
<Compu>
ah
L249[11:59:10]
<ZefTheFox>
If I got permission I ***might*** but it's a modification to
opencomputers and so it's not my own work
L252[12:00:04]
<Forecaster>
I was just about to do that
L254[12:00:43]
<ZefTheFox>
Oh nice
L255[12:01:01]
<ZefTheFox>
well maybe if I put more effort into it and flesh it out more then
I might release it
L256[12:01:19]
<ZefTheFox>
because it'd be a modified version of open computers that requires
a resource pack
L257[12:02:20]
<Lizzian>
hmm, i don't mod mc so idk how hard it'd be to do, but oyu could
clone the stuff for the cases and then modify the cloned code so
then you have both normal and 'tower' style things
L258[12:02:45]
<ZefTheFox>
That's still a lot of effort
L259[12:04:55]
<ZefTheFox>
So I changed the textures for the status lights through a resource
pack
L260[12:05:01]
<ZefTheFox>
but those changes aren't showing ingame
L261[12:05:05]
<ZefTheFox>
it's still using the default ones
L262[12:09:46]
<ZefTheFox>
OH
L263[12:09:56]
<ZefTheFox>
because the file structure is different in 1.10 then 1.7.10
L265[12:32:59] <AmandaC> %choose watch arc

L266[12:32:59] <MichiBot> AmandaC:
Elementary dear Watson, watch arc 2 despite headache is the obvious
choice!
L267[12:33:04] <AmandaC> okay
L268[12:36:57]
<ZefTheFox>
I was going to make a model for the screen
L269[12:37:08]
<ZefTheFox>
but I'm not sure if it'd play nice with connected textures
L270[12:37:40]
<Forecaster>
if you keep it aligned with the front edge of the block it might
work
L271[12:38:37]
<ZefTheFox>
Well I need to do that anyways
L272[12:38:51]
<ZefTheFox>
but the way the connected texture appears to work is there is a
texture for every possible screen varient
L274[12:40:44]
<ZefTheFox>
I'm so glad that copied correctly lol
