L37[10:18:31] <FLHerne> from the video linked the other day, it sounds like KSP2 is planning "do a mission once to prove you can do it, and then it can be automagically 'repeated' in the background"

L55[18:05:40] <SporkWitch> FLHerne: i think i actually have the game, but never got around to playing it lol. And yeah, a lot of the things they've said sound like how MKS and WOLF do things, so basically if you run a cargo mission from the KSC to your minmus orbital station, you don't need to do it again, you record the route and its cost, and now you can automate that in the background. Hopefully they do it in a way
L56[18:06:09] <SporkWitch> that you can replace older, less efficient routes (e.g. new engine tech can make the trip both faster AND cheaper, get rid of the old route, use the new one).
L57[18:07:38] <SporkWitch> For the construction, it'd almost be close to Total Annihilation or Planetary Annihilation: you marked the thing to be built, but then the builders have to actually go there, and more / better builders means both it gets built faster, but also the resources are consumed faster; run out of resources and if construction is pulling resources faster than they're coming in, construction stalls.
L58[18:08:26] <SporkWitch> (It actually made for some interesting depth in build strategy, as unlike almost all other RTS games you didn't need to have the resources up front, it was all based on flow over time)
L59[18:08:56] <SporkWitch> Extra step would be having to physically get the materials in range as well, not just the construction vehicles
