would also choose not playing over touching Thermal Exp ?

<Erestyl> To elaborate on my earlier
statement, the reason I don't play Minecraft anymore is
because there's nowhere to go in it. Once you build a base,
you have no reason to ever explore or go anywhere else. Sure,
Harder Ores makes you search around for ore veins, but once you
find one there's no reason to look for another. Buildcraft
sort of solves that with oil wells. If you artificially limit
yourself to using oil and fuel for power, the game
L13[02:01:31]
<Erestyl> far more interesting as
there is now a resource that is actually scarce and requires a
search. When I was asking for Buildcraft and getting answers about
item pipes, I realized that what I was actually asking about was
oil wells.
L14[02:04:16]
<Hanakocz> Authme blocks fake players.
You need to remove it.
L15[02:05:01]
<Hanakocz> I guess if you tried
BuildCraft, those robots won't work, too. Authme breaks mods.
Authme is bad. YOu should use native login check in server
L16[02:06:13]
<Hanakocz> @Erestyl have you ever
tried to play with GregTech? Try the 6th version, you will not
regret that. Complexity of Factorio (also that is really good
game)
L17[02:18:51]
<Erestyl> @Hanakocz it looks really
complicated... probably very interesting but is there enough
documentation to make sense of it?

<Erestyl> I've been reading
through the wiki and it looks like it would be very unbalanced with
almost any other tech mod, unless it drastically alters them. I
think I'll install it and see but it's not really what
I'm looking for.
L20[02:45:52]
<Hanakocz> GT usually alters other
mods
L21[02:46:09]
<Hanakocz> some not, for example it
builds up around RC or IC2 alot
L22[02:47:15]
<Hanakocz> but the general idea is
that if you get those mods with that, it will be compatible and
tech-tree will be not spoiled. Unless you install mods like
ThermalExp and similar mods, those *are made to be shortcuts*
L23[02:48:00]
<Erestyl> Hmm... well I'll give
it a shot.
L24[02:49:03]
<Hanakocz> Actually if I remember
correctly, new versions of GT6 have also its own oil, the only
disadvantage is that it is only for 1.7.10 :/
L25[02:49:51]
<Hanakocz> but not that op as infinite
BC ones I think
L26[02:50:32]
<Hanakocz> I have even server for GT6,
few people still play there, as it is months of gameplay before you
get into end-game
L27[03:46:54]
<Xanax>
@liach There're only unprotected areas.
L28[04:17:28]
<Hanakocz> there are only 2 possible
reasons. 1) bad config for railcraft 2) authme

<TehStoneMan> @Forecaster Watching
your latest video, I had a thought about your chunk loading issue.
If you have a hopper accross a chunk border, it might be feeding
items faster than the chunk unloading timeout.

L61[23:19:24]
<Elourge> I have no context other then
the above comment, but hopper chunk loadeds need to be connected to
a chunk that is always loaded like spawn. Every few seconds I
think, minecraft will unload all chunks that arent spawn or arent
loaded by a player. If a hopper loader isnt working then its not
overlaping an area that isnt always loaded.
L62[23:42:52]
<TehStoneMan> As I understand it, it
only needs a hopper on either side pointing accross the border. As
each hopper pushes an item into an invenetory on the other side, it
resets the timeout for that chunk. So if you end up with a
situation where two hoppers are continuesly passing items both ways
accross the same border, it's effectively keeping both chunks
loaded.
L63[23:44:27]
<TehStoneMan> Of course, it means that
the chunks in question have to loaded first before this happens,
but if a play happens to pass close enough to load the chunks, it
starts the process, and just keeps going, even after the player
leaves the area.
