is it dying before it can spawn a new instance?
L115[06:35:50] <Michiyo> I have restart.sh
as `exec ./start.sh start` which I THOUGHT would spawn start.sh in
a different process and therefore not care if the parent calling
restart died
L116[06:36:24] <Michiyo> But I don't
recall what the previous restart.sh did exactly... and this is a
totally rewritten start.sh because I lost them both cause I was
dumb
L117[06:36:59] <Michiyo> @Forecaster you
don't happen to have my old start / restart shell scripts do
you?

L121[06:43:45] <Hawk777> If the parent
dies, the child shouldn’t be killed, it should just be reparented
to PID1.
L122[06:45:16] <Hawk777> “exec” will not
spawn a new process though, it will replace the process, so if
restart.sh has any code *after* the “exec” line it won’t run.
L123[06:45:27] <Michiyo> it doesn't
L124[06:47:37] <Hawk777> Does the code
preceding the exec line (which presumably kills the bot) actually
wait for the bot to die first? If not, if the bot has any reason
not to run multiple simultaneous instances (fixed port number
bindings, file locks, etc.) could it be that the new bot starts and
then gives up before the old one dies?
L125[06:50:04] <Michiyo> restart.sh is
literally exec ./start.sh restart

L158[14:02:00] <ernos> hey! I'm trying to
update the Thistle mod, which adds a 65C02 architecture to
OpenComputers. On boot with a graphics card in my computer, I get a
typecasting error. I'm trying to figure out what is returned from
this line "Object[] response2 = machine.invoke(gpuADDR,
"get", new Object[] { this.X, this.Y });". It looks
like the mod is trying to cast the first object in the response
array from machine.invoke to a character. Getting an error that a
string cannot
L159[14:02:01] <ernos> be converted to a
character. Where would I find what all is being returned in that
array? Not done MC mod dev before, nor have I tried adding an
architecture in OpenComputers before. Hopefully I've provided
enough information here to be of use
L160[14:02:33] <Amanda> Thistle is
abandoned, and it's possible a change in the OC apis has broken
it
L161[14:02:46] <ernos> yeah I figured as
much, trying to figure out what that change was so I can fix the
mod
L162[14:03:08] <ernos> in Machine.java,
the invoke method doesn't seem to be giving any hints on what it's
returning other than an array of objects
L163[14:03:18] <Amanda> I'm guessing the
gpu component's "get" method changed it's return type in
1.8
L164[14:04:50] <ernos> Where would I find
the gpu component in the source so I can see what it returns? I've
been looking in src/main/java/li/cil/oc/api and can't find anything

L178[15:52:53] <ernos> hey I'm working on

Attempting to open it with io.open then read with io.read causes an
exception "/lib/buffer.lua:118: attempt to index a number
value (local "self")". As far as I'm aware, I'm
opening it correctly, which is confusing me. I do "file =
io.open("/home/hxd/test.bin", "rb")" to
open it, then am doing "contents = io.read(1)" which
should read 1 byte from that file. However, it's causing my
L179[15:52:53] <ernos> previously

returning an object when I open it, and not just 'nil' like it
