L135[23:13:59] <Hawk777> Yes.

<pea> if
lets say i would want to have only one line of text displayed on a
computer, and be constantly updated, like having seconds ticking or
something like that how would i do it ?
L137[23:15:26]
<pea>
because print just spams the screen
L138[23:16:03]
<pea> i
have some exp in other programming languages but no in lua
L139[23:18:19] <Hawk777> If you use
io.write instead of print, it will not automatically add a newline
at the end. I suspect (not certain, but you could try it out) that
you could then add a “\r” at the end of your string (instead of the
usual “\n”) to return to the beginning of the line without moving
to the next line.
L140[23:18:40] <Hawk777> If you might
sometimes print a longer line and then a shorter one, you probably
want to add some spaces at the end so you don’t leave residue of
the old text behind
L141[23:18:57]
<pea> thank
you, i will follow that lead
L142[23:19:24] <Hawk777> Alternatively, if
you want to go lower-level, you can use the GPU API <
https://ocdoc.cil.li/component:gpu> to write text
to any location on the screen, but for what you’re doing, io.write
seems like the easier solution.
L143[23:20:20]

<pea> Can
you change the ticks of the computer? Like make a loop run slower

L154[23:33:36]
<pea> yea i

a lot to write, its easier to copy paste
L156[23:35:50] <Hawk777> If you’re playing
singleplayer, you can also change the “bufferChanges” setting in
your OpenComputers config file to false. Then every time
OpenComputers needs to read a file, it will read it directly from
your (real computer) hard drive, which means you can just open your
Lua code file in a (real) text editor and edit it.
