<Compu> ah
there it goes
L107[15:37:16]
<Compu>
thanks
L108[15:38:00]
<Forecaster> I've actually developed the
library a bit since I wrote this page
L109[15:38:55]
<Forecaster> It has functions for printing
debug messages to a specific screen which is useful when trying to
create an interface
L110[15:42:46]
<Forecaster> oh yeah, and the menu
system
L111[15:43:00]
<Forecaster> at least there's some
documentation in the file
L112[15:51:03]
<Compu>
ok
L113[15:51:22]
<Compu> the
menu concept i have only needs buttons
L114[15:54:29]
<Compu>
basically it's a welcome screen, user clicks on welcome screen and
the program uses the touch even to gather the username, it goes
through every room in the database and stores the reserved status
for each room while also comparing usernames to the username
gathered from the touch event, if the user has a room already it
brings up a panel that tells them what room they have, the time
remaining on the reservation, and 3 buttons (renew, cancel,
L115[15:54:29]
<Compu> and
go back), if they don't have a room it brings up a simplified
graphic of the hotel as viewed from above, basically just a bunch
of buttons arranged to look like the layout of the hotel, and
colors them red or green depending on their status, with an extra
button to switch between floors, the user can then click a room to
reserve it
L116[15:54:48]
<Compu>
simple and easy to use
L117[15:55:18]
<Forecaster> With this library all you
have to do is something like this:
L119[15:55:55]
<Forecaster> Those aren't the complete
arguments for the touch event but you can find those on the
wiki
L120[15:56:32]
<Forecaster> I just put `on_touch(x, y)`
kinda pseudo-cody
L121[16:01:47]
<Compu>
can't figure out how to test that in the interface designer
L122[16:02:38]
<Compu> i
keep getting a type error
L123[16:04:20]
<Forecaster> type error?
L124[16:05:18]
<Compu> ah
i figured it out, he designer expects u to not define the button
color at all
L125[16:06:06]
<Forecaster> oh yeah, the designer has an
outdated version of the library

complete this, it should actually render the things when the code
is run
L128[16:07:16]
<Compu>
ye
L129[16:08:17]
<Forecaster> the library itself is more
solid though, I wrote it for a bigger project that uses a bunch of
different interfaces
L130[16:08:21]
<Compu>
ok
L131[16:08:35]
<Compu>
seems way easier and simpler than the other GUI library i
linked
L132[16:09:05]
<Compu> now
i just gotta figure out how to draw 6 rectangles of the same size
in a U shape on the screen, preferably with gaps between them
L133[16:09:41]
<Forecaster> That's why I made the
interface designer
L134[16:09:55]
<Forecaster> I always hated getting things
positioned correctly on a screen
L135[16:10:10]
<Compu>
even with that it's not easy cuz there's no copy and paste and
rotate
L136[16:10:27]
<Forecaster> no but at least there is a
grid
L137[16:10:31]
<RedstoneParkour> you can probably
implement it yourself
L138[16:11:09]
<RedstoneParkour> just have copy send the
selected item to a holding variable and have paste make a copy of
the item in the holding variable
L139[16:11:34]

L148[16:13:22]
