L203[12:40:47] * darsie rescued Gusdun Kerman from the surface of Minmus without rockets. Well, jetpacks. A Minmus based scientist flew to Gusdun and told him that nobody's going to pick him up and that he'd have to fly home himself. So he took off, aerobraked at Kerbin, got some more jetpack fuel from a capsule another Kerbal abandoned and deorbited.
L204[12:41:45] <Althego> hehe gravity kerbal style
L205[12:41:49] <darsie> :)
L206[12:42:28] <Mat2ch> but how did he not burn up?
L207[12:42:42] <Althego> and why didnt use the capsule to deorbit?
L208[12:43:00] <darsie> ~70,500 m orbit, 3.1 jetpack fuel deorbit burn.
L209[12:43:27] <darsie> Somebody else might need the capsule. And it's easier that way.
L210[12:44:25] <darsie> Ohh, horizontal final aerobraking and 50 m above splashdown righting, so the impact isn't that hard (for realsim, not actually necessary).
L211[12:45:17] <darsie> I'd have to deorbit the capsule by pushing it with the Kerbal.
L212[12:45:32] <Althego> so from rescue contract
L213[12:45:39] <darsie> And then get out for splashdown anyways, cause there's no chute.
L214[12:45:42] <darsie> yes.
L215[12:45:44] <Althego> i thought it was regular space debris
L216[12:49:03] <darsie> I had no target/distance marker when jetpacking ...
L217[12:49:13] <darsie> in staging mode.
L218[12:49:23] <darsie> Only visual.
L219[12:49:48] <darsie> Deja vu. Is that configurable?
L220[12:50:44] <darsie> made me miss the capsule initially and used more fuel, having only 0.02 jetpack fuel left when boarding.
L221[12:51:47] <Althego> hehe that is tight
